To say I was skeptical when I first heard about Michael Packard is the understatement of all time. He claimed that four weeks ago he was out diving for lobsters when a humpback whale appeared from nowhere and swallowed him. Yeah, right? Pull the other one. And then there was something that made it sound even more fishy. It supposedly happened in the waters off Cape Cod, but as we dive deeper, it became obvious this was no fairy tale. What it is is a frightening and very heroic battle for survival and just maybe the most extraordinary story we’ve ever told. It’s the stuff of folklore and biblical legend.
